Determining Eligibility: A member of the study team will reach out to you via the provided contact information to conduct a short phone screen (10-15 minutes) that will enable us to determine eligibility. After eligibility is determined, we will ask you to consent to be in the study if you are still interested at that time.
Baseline Assessment: For the baseline assessment, we will ask you to complete surveys and a diagnostic interview. For completion of this assessment you will receive $15.
First Wear of the Continuous Glucose Monitor: If you do not already have a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) we will provide one for you. We will ask that you wear the CGM for 14 days. We will ask that you share the access code with us so that we can directly access the data generated by the CGM. All information we collect from this cloud will be de-identified and stored on secure and encrypted device. You will receive $25 for completing this wear.
After the first wear of the CGM and completion of the baseline assessment, you will be randomized to one of two body acceptance programs. There is a 50% chance that you will be randomized to one or the other program. One program entails weekly one-hour group sessions for six weeks that are led by two facilitators. Groups will meet virtually over a secure-video based platform. The other program involves watching one-hour worth of videos each week for six weeks.
Post-Test Assessment: Immediately after the intervention program concludes, you will be asked to complete the same surveys and diagnostic interview as you did during the baseline assessment. You will receive $20 for completion of these tasks.
Three-Month Follow-Up: Three months after the program ends, we will contact you and ask you to complete the same surveys and diagnostic interview as done at baseline and post-test. You will receive $25 for completion of these tasks.
Second Wear of the CGM: At the time of the three-month follow-up, we will ask you to complete a second 14-day wear of the CGM. You will receive $25 for completion of this wear. After the three-month follow-up assessment and the second wear of the CGM, your participation in the study will conclude.
